  • Torment: A Post-Apocalyptic Thriller

W.J. Lundy, Andrew B. Wehrlen, WJ Lundy

Audible Audiobook (WJ Lundy, Oct. 22, 2018)
From the author of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and the Invasion trilogy. From the War on Terror, a world crippling bioweapon is released. The US scrambles teams of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control. America's top field agents are tasked with collecting samples and developing a cure. In a national laboratory, scientists race against the clock searching for a cure. Borders are closed, martial law and soldiers deployed across the homeland. Thus begins the greatest outbreak in the history of humankind; a disease so deadly it pushes humanity to the brink of extinction. Entire populations and regions of the US quickly wiped out, millions falling victim to the primal virus. In the wake of the fast-spreading pandemic, state and local governments, desperate for answers, rush to provide relief to the devastated and overwhelmed communities. Experts in biomedical research are desperately summoned to Atlanta and military facilities across the country. On a cold morning, the men of India Company, Second Platoon, are alerted and rapid-deployed to Virginia. Their mission: to recover and escort experts in biomedicine, specifically in the development and production of vaccines. With faulty intelligence and half-truths, Second Platoon moves forward. What they find is worse than anyone could have predicted. What was a rescue mission turns into a struggle for their own survival. Author's note: Torment is a story I first began writing in 2014 shortly after WTF 5: Something to Fight For was completed. I wanted to tell the story of how things unfolded back in the States and have it be a stand-alone work from the rest of the series. Because of the popularity of the primary story line, I kept shelving Torment and driving on with the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot primary band of characters. But then came the Invasion trilogy, and then Donovan's War. Torment fell further and further down the to-do list. Eventually, I adapted some of the early chapters of Torment into a short story and released it with Amazon Publishing's Kindle Worlds under the title Battle for Orchard Hill. That was a decision I immediately regretted because I knew then the story may never be completed. Then something happened, Kindle Worlds is gone, and with that, those chapters went back to the bench. That motivated me to get back into the original manuscript and finish Torment, a story I always enjoyed and thought needed to be told. Torment is not a rewrite of the Kindle Worlds novella Battle for Orchard Hill. Torment is the original imagining and telling of that story the way I always intended it to be. As always, thank you for listening, and I hope you enjoy.
  • The Flower Man: A Steve Jobz Thriller

    Vincent Zandri, Andrew B. Wehrlen

Audible Audiobook (Vincent Zandri, June 21, 2018)
Hard-boiled mystery. Mayhem. Murder... "Sexual harassment in the workplace will not only ruin your career, it will get you killed." Private investigator and anti-hero Steve Jobz has screwed up big time. He had one too many the night before, and it gave him the courage to text photos of his naked chest to his hot new coworker at the State Department of Insurance Fraud Agency. While the lovely Kate is keeping quiet about the texts, Jobz feels like the boom is about to come down on him when his boss orders him into her office. Seems homicide detective Nick Miller wants a face-to-face with the former cop. But what Miller wants has nothing to do with Jobz's texts. Instead, they have everything to do with a local television news personality known to all as "Mr. TV". Much like Jobz, the lovable news anchor has also texted photos of himself to a coworker, but these photos were not of the relatively tame chest-high variety. Rather, the pictures were taken below the belt. As a result, Mr. TV is not only getting sued, but is being issued death threats from the victim's Russian immigrant father. When Miller assigns Jobz to personally watch over Mr. TV and his cougar wife, Janice, what he discovers is that the couple are up to their necks in more than just a sexting scandal. They are in fact broke and living on cash that is coming from a very unlikely source: the Russian mob. What follows is a quagmire of sex, shootouts, serial murder, and a quirky private detective who just can't keep himself from getting in trouble with the ladies. Like The Embalmer, the first novel in the new Steve Jobz PI series created and written by Thriller Award-winning, New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Vincent Zandri, The Flower Man culminates with an explosive climax and promises to keep listeners glued to their chairs for hours. For fans of Michael Connelly, Robert B. Parker, Charlie Huston, Jim Crumley, Lee Child, Brett Battles, and more. Nab this thriller today before it's too late!

But hey, why not let the rich be the guinea pigs for once? Fast-forward a year, and the one percent began dying en masse. The nanobots had evolved to view aging as a virus and were reacting by shutting down the host. Swathes of the population were infected before the government rolled out a treatment program in the midst of riots and mass unrest. Meanwhile, the nanomachines spread like wildfire, infecting and killing millions. The remains of the government had no choice but to detonate a series of experimental weapons in the atmosphere, producing an EMP effect that rendered almost all electronic devices on earth useless. Bradley is one of the survivors. A former veterinarian, he decides to escape his burning city and trek deep into the Maine wilderness, aiming to find his estranged father's old lake house. Remembering lessons learned and long-forgotten, Bradley endeavors to survive on his own terms and be self-sufficient in a new and altogether darker world. But his struggle has only just begun. It's the least he can do for a father who was always there to help Chase, the young man. But what he doesn't expect is a job offer by the local Albany Police Department to look into a missing elderly couple. Maybe Chase wants nothing more than to get back to New York City to work on his latest novel, but when the detective in charge happens to mention the couple lived in the same house as Clara Harris and Union Major Henry Rathbone, the young couple who accompanied President Abraham Lincoln in the Presidential Box on the night of his assassination back in 1865, he puts his plans on hold. What makes the job impossible to ignore (aside from the badly needed payday) is that Clara Harris's dress which is rumored to be soaked with Lincoln's blood, is also said to be stored inside a secret vault somewhere in the house. While Chase decides to take on the job of looking for the old couple, he can't help but put his treasure hunting tools to work in searching for the dress first. Standing in his way, however, is not only an egocentric and murderous Civil War reenactment historian who believes he is the reincarnation of John Wilkes Booth, but more importantly, the dress itself. A dress that bears the blood of the Lincoln Curse. Filled with suspense, real history and alternative history, cliffhangers, action, and paranormal dream-like events, the newest novella-length episode in the best-selling, award-winning Chase Baker "pulp fiction" series is sure to thrill.
