  • The Eternal Game

    Alexander Ennis

Paperback (Independently published, June 28, 2019)
In the future, everyone is immortal. Nearing the turn of the 22nd century, advancements in medicine opened the door to a new field of cellular biology: genetic synthesis. We began seeing the development of the first immortality "syrum" in 2088. The first successful trial took place in London, January 1, 2100. The terminally ill patient made a New Year's resolution to pursue the final alternative if she survived long enough to see the turn of the century. Her only focus was surviving for the immediate future, not forever. Some psychologists believe this is why her trial was the first success -- that her innate will to survive pulled her through the DNA reconstruction. In his first book, The Eternal Game, we are introduced to our main character and author, Adrian. His story begins inside of an immortal asylum on-board an international spaceport. The asylum, also known as the F.O.R.T. (Flying Operations and Reconnaissance Training), abuses funding for immortality research on war operations and modifying the syrum for its soldiers. Upon realizing the true operation of the F.O.R.T., Adrian and his new friend, Rhona, decide to escape. Throughout the solar system, there is war. During his escape, Adrian runs into a fleet of pilots racing to the loading bay. Having nowhere else to run, Adrian climbs in a craft and goes along for the ride. Soon after, Adrian joins an elite task force within the Militaristic Republic of the United Nations (M-RUN) and eventually inherits a crucial role for influencing the remainder of the war. Why is there war? Who will win? How could Adrian make a difference? Will he succeed? Dive in and explore... but don't stay for too long!
