Excerpt from Roadside Songs of Tuscany, Vol. 9: The Palace on High, When the Star, the Story of Beatrice and Her Sons, Songs of Country Loves, Hear Me Swallow Dear, the Legend of St. ChristopherOF Beatrice of Pian degli Ontani, whose portrait stands at the beginning of the book, I have written a little account in the preface, but there are many more things which I should like to tell about her.
