Eleven year old Jessie is reluctant to stay with her nanna for the holidays: Nanna lives on a farm, miles from town and wears a hearing aid. So Jessie readies herself for yet another boring week. But then something happens ...Nanna has found an old family portrait in the loft and it now hangs on the hall wall. And when Jessie begins to hear voices during the night she overcomes her fear and discovers the portrait is haunted. It seems she has uncovered an ancient family secret.Nanna introduces Jessie to her new neighbour Fleur, an artist. Fleur's daughter Harmony is staying for the holidays and she and Jessie do some research on the Internet. Jessie learns she must find a way to communicate with her ancestors so that they will find peace. But how?Will Fleur's paintings hold the answer Jessie seeks? And will her ancestors finally stop talking in the night?
