Locked and secured against intruders for over a decade, the monolith served as a reminder to the town of one family’s folly and fodder for the local teenagers fears and dares. With Halloween fast approaching, that mansion had taken on a new life, and a new interest for Cameron, a Freshman boy newly anointed on the football team. The team had gathered together, laying out their plan and backing it with $20 apiece. The dare was simple…. Stay in the mansion until midnight on Halloween.
