Hardcover (Wilder Publications, Aug. 14, 2008)
The Pursuit of God: This book is a modest attempt to aid God's hungry children so to find Him. Nothing here is new except in the sense that it is a discovery which my own heart has made of spiritual realities most delightful and wonderful to me. Others before me have gone much farther into these holy mysteries than I have done, but if my fire is not large it is yet real, and there may be those who can light their candle at its flame.-A. W. Tozer

Aiden Wilson Tozer (1897-1963) was an American Christian pastor, preacher, author, magazine editor, Bible conference speaker and spiritual mentor. Hailing from a tiny farming community in western Pennsylvania, his conversion was as a teenager in Akron, Ohio. In 1919, five years after his conversion, and without formal theological training, Tozer accepted an offer to pastor his first church. This began 44 years of ministry. He was also a prolific author. Among the more than 40 books that he authored, at least two are regarded as Christian classics: The Pursuit of God and The Knowledge of the Holy. His books impress on the reader the possibility and necessity for a deeper relationship with God.Living a simple and non-materialistic lifestyle, he and his wife never owned a car, preferring bus and train travel. Even after becoming a well-known Christian author, Tozer signed away much of his royalties to those who were in need.Prayer was of vital personal importance for Tozer. "His preaching as well as his writings were but extensions of his prayer life," comments his biographer, James L. Snyder, in the book, In Pursuit of God: The Life of A.W. Tozer. "He had the ability to make his listeners face themselves in the light of what God was saying to them," writes Snyder.

  • The Pursuit of God

    A. W. Tozer

    Paperback (Tate, June 7, 2013)
The Pursuit of God, by A. W. Tozer, will cause you to pursue Jesus and draw nearer to our loving Father in a practical way. In each chapter Tozer strikes upon an aspect of our pursuit of God--and how God actually wants to be found! Like a Father playing hide and seek with his child--God won't hide very long from you. May this book change the way you live―not merely increase what you know. Whether you are thirsting for more of God or do not yet know of the “mighty longing after God” that so consumed A.W. Tozer’s life and ministry, The Pursuit of God will draw you into a deep, abiding relationship with the One who “nourishes the soul.” “Tozer lived for and preached Jesus Christ. Contemporary Christians can benefit by discovering―or rediscovering―his writings.” --Dr. Franklin Graham

    A. W. Tozer

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Dec. 27, 2013)
Written during the late 1940s, The Pursuit of God shows how God pursues humans to draw them into a relationship with Himself. Tozer explores different aspects of this desire within the human heart, calling readers to examine what they believe and put aside preconceived ideas that disrupt this relationship with God. “It is a solemn thing,” he writes, “to see God’s children starving while actually seated at the Father’s table. This book is a modest attempt to aid God’s hungry children so to find Him.”
