Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, April 25, 2015)
The Pursuit of God Aiden Wilson TOZER (1897 - 1963) "As the heart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God." This thirst for an intimate relationship with God, claims A.W. Tozer, is not for a select few, but should be the experience of every follower of Christ. But, he asserts, it is all too rare when believers have become conditioned by tradition to accept standards of mediocrity, and the church struggles with formality and worldliness. Using examples from Scripture and from the lives of saints who lived with this thirst for God, Tozer sheds light on the path to a closer walk with God.

Were all the nations of the earth to unite in one great federation and call a man to head that federation, that man would be honored above any other man that ever lived. Yet the humblest man who heeds the call to follow Christ has an honor far above such a man; for the nations of the earth can bestow only such honor as they possess, while the honor of Christ is supreme over all. God has given Him a name that is above every name.

  • Man: The Dwelling Place of God

    A. W. Tozer

Paperback (Wilder Publications, May 21, 2009)
Deep inside every man there is a private sanctum where dwells the mysterious essence of his being. The weakness of so many modern Christians is that they feel too much at home in the world. The most liberating declarations in the New Testament is this: The true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. From man's standpoint the most tragic loss suffered in the Fall was the vacating of this inner sanctum by the Spirit of God. At the far-in hidden center of man's being is a bush fitted to be the dwelling place of the Triune God. There God planned to rest and glow with moral and spiritual fire. Man by his sin forfeited this indescribably wonderful privilege and must now dwell there alone. For so intimately private is the place that no creature can intrude; no one can enter but Christ; and He will enter only by the invitation of faith.
  • The Pursuit of God

    A. W. Tozer

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, May 19, 2010)
"We pursue God because, and only because, He has first put an urge within us that spurs us to the pursuit." With these words, A.W. Tozer begins his encouragement to push us into our own pursuit of God rather than asking us to hear about his. Tozer invites us to pursue a relationship with God strong enough to satisfy our deepest spiritual desires.
  • The Pursuit of God

    Hardcover (Lulu.com, Jan. 30, 2014)
My acquaintance with the author is limited to brief visits and loving fellowship in his church. There I discovered a self-made scholar, an omnivorous reader with a remarkable library of theological and devotional books, and one who seemed to burn the midnight oil in pursuit of God. His book is the result of long meditation and much prayer. It is not a collection of sermons. It does not deal with the pulpit and the pew but with the soul athirst for God. The chapters could be summarized in Moses' prayer, "Show me thy glory," or Paul's exclamation, "O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!" It is theology not of the head but of the heart.
