This is where he meets and falls in love with the beautiful, reckless, stubborn, strong and clever Dorothy. But, alas, she loves John Manners; her father's worst enemy's son. A lot of secret wooing between these two unfolds, despite the bitter family feud. A fun read, and illustration of human nature changing very little in over five hundred years.
