The story is about a young boy, Timothy Hardbuckle, who gets accidentally left behind in the UK when his large, eccentric family emigrate to Australia. He ends up staying with his adventurous and fun-loving favourite uncle until he can be reunited with his parents and sisters. But when his uncle has to go away on a secret government mission, Timothy’s troubles really begin.
