Viv wakes up from still another nightmare. Her cousin Lisa and Lisa’s boyfriend, Kevin, are presumed dead after getting lost during a school hike to the Grand Canyon. Teams have been searching for them for days. No one can find them. Without food and above all water there is no way they could still be alive.
Suddenly she gets a series of messages left on her doorstep in her cousin’s handwriting telling her where to find them and describing how to get to a certain cave deep in the Canyon. They need supplies if Viv will only bring them. Is this a prank or what? Why is somebody trying to lure her down to the Canyon where her cousin died of thirst and starvation. Or was it something worse? Were Lisa and Kevin killed? Were the killers now after her, too? Viv had better figure it all out, or she will become stone cold dead as a rock in the canyon, too.
