First Edition, first printing. Not paginated, but 8 pages printed on two sides, illustrated by the author with the 8th leaf and thus the back cover being an advertisement for his Lark Magazine which first appeared in May, 1895. The second edition of this book was not printed on both sides of the page and has twice as many pages. This is the author's first works in the year he started his iconoclastic magazine in the same, small pamphlet-size format. Author is credited with giving rise to the word "Blurb." Although he would go to publish for another 40+ years, The Purple Cow! is often considered his greatest works.
