Audio CD (Disney Press and Blackstone Audio Dec. 13, 2016) , Unabridged Audio edition
[Read by G.K. Bowes]

Inspired by Disney Animation Studios' latest film, Moana, this middle grade novel features characters and adventures based on the rich culture of Oceania. It includes original content in the form of mini folktales interspersed throughout the story of the film.

Featuring Folktales Inspired by the Cultures of the Pacific Islands.

Moana has lived on the island of Motunui her whole life, just like her parents before her and their parents before them. She loves the community in her happy village, from the farmers growing plentiful crops, to the talented basket weavers, to the fishermen filling their nets in the lagoon. As daughter of the chief, Moana knows that one day the village and all of its inhabitants will be her responsibility. This is a bit daunting, particularly as a piece of her has always longed to explore the seas beyond their reef -- something that has long been forbidden.

But when legendary darkness threatens their island, Moana must venture on the voyage of a lifetime to find an ancient demigod and right past wrongs. Soon Moana learns that sailing beyond the reef is much more difficult than she ever imagined. Will she be able to save her people?
