Anna Kennedy is twelve years old and has never ridden a horse. Yet. But it's one of the many opportunities to arise over the Christmas holiday, when she's banished to her aunt and uncle's home in a neighboring village after an unfortunate series of events. Anna is sure that three whole days there will be no picnic, because there's nothing to do, her cousins are crazy, and her Aunt Nan can't cook worth two cents, and Anna would rather be at home spending the holidays with her family.
