The Pacu Fish is a freshwater fish. What’s really interesting about it is that it’s related to Piranhas – you know, those fish that eat flesh – even human flesh.
A Pacu Fish looks like a regular fish.
They are actually bigger than Piranhas, however, which makes them even scarier, but don’t worry because they are not meat eaters – they mostly eat seeds and nuts. What a relief!
It is one of the biggest fishes around, and can reach the length of about three feet. That’s really big because that’s almost the size of a small child. When an adult Pacu Fish reaches this size, it can weigh around 121 pounds – which can be compared to the weight of an adult person.
Their teeth are not as pointed and sharp as that of Piranhas – but they are just as shocking. Shocking because they look like human teeth! Their teeth are square-shaped in the front and their inner teeth (molars) are flat – again, just like human teeth. The only difference is that they have more teeth than people because sometimes their whole mouth is filled with rows of teeth (especially as they age).
