I Promise

language ( April 15, 2019)
Fifteen years ago my parents ran away from their home to protect a baby--their baby--me.
Five years later, I meet someone else who had a secret to hide, and was also in hiding, like me.
Fast-forward five more years and he promised he would be back. I promised I wouldn’t forget him.
I’ll be sixteen next month, a teenage fairy hiding in the human realm. I’ve waited six years wondering if my witch will ever come back. Wondering every day if he’s even alive. Wondering if he will keep his promise.
I knew of the dangers, but I wasn’t prepared for them to find me. Will a promise be enough when everything evil is against us, and what we could become?

Shari is your typical teenager playing sports, laughing with friends, struggling through school, and waiting anxiously for her sixteenth birthday. But she holds a secret. She's a fairy from the Pararealm hiding out in the Human realm, away from the prying eyes of a manipulative council who seeks power.
Her parents brought their baby girl away from all their family and friends in the hopes that she would live a normal, safe life. On her first day of kindergarten, she found a witch, Nicholas, who too was being kept in the Human realm, away from the council. Quickly the two became inseparable and their families became the best of friends. When Shari was nine, her heart broke. Nicholas had to leave. He and his family were going back to the Pararealm to help save other magical children who were under the council's thumb in a school called the Academy.
Six years later, he returns with the new knowledge that they both lived, loved, and fought together a thousand years ago, and on their death a prophecy was declared.
The council has known only part of the prophecy and they are on a manhunt for the lost fairy, the descendent who wasn't at their Academy. Nicholas is just as determined that they never find her. Shari is caught in the middle and soon realizes that destiny has played her final hand and she's smack in the middle of it all.
Together they need to face the dangers and prove that destiny didn't make a mistake keeping them together.
