A God in Carver

Tatum Austin has a reputation that proceeds her. Everyone in Carver, Georgia knows not to mess with the hot-headed, sharp-tongued, stunningly beautiful badass. And she likes it that way. She wants nothing to do with the small town that has, against her will, forced football to become the center of her life. She hates that she’s not allowed to charge players for their meals at The End Zone where she waitresses. She hates that her stripper sister and washed up mom are still chasing their glory days as conquests of former football stars. She hates cheerleaders and despises the spirit girls who willingly do homework, make baked goods and drop to their knees for any man in a football uniform. She hates that football is the reason she lost her best friend, Brandon Eastman, when they were twelve. And she hates that she and the star linebacker, Nash Carter, have been in love since eighth grade. So when she’s given the opportunity to become the new sports reporter for The Carver Observer she’s skeptical. Until she realizes she can use the paper to shed some well-deserved light on the negative side of the game that every small minded citizen around her worships. Dragged back into the world of popular jocks and cheerleaders, Tatum’s unattainable bad-girl image begins to falter. Two of her former best friends – Brandon and his girlfriend Summer- are back in her life and she can’t help that she misses what the three of them and Nash used to have. Which is a problem because the series of articles that are finally getting her recognition as something other than one of the notorious Austin girls and Nash’s girlfriend, will surely take it all away from her again.
