Lucy Spratt doesn’t believe in magic or fairy tales or any of that nonsense. But this all changes when she is sent to stay with two eccentric aunts. Lucy’s arrival alerts the WI (also known as the Witchfinder’s Institute and not to be confused too often, unless convenient, with the Women’s Institute). The WI is determined to rid the country of the vile witch vermin once and for all.
Meanwhile, aided by new friends, Lucy sets out to find answers to questions like: Why does no one talk about her mother? Why do the doors, furniture and even rooms keep moving in the house? And how come she can make herself disappear?
Lucy is determined to uncover the secrets about her family and the destiny they must fulfil. The WI is determined to stop her.
