The Life and Times of Derek Ant: Making New Friends

This book is the second one in the DEREK ANT SERIES. The first one is entitled THE LIFE AND TIMES OF DEREK ANT - The Beginning. Derek Ant lived in the small ant village even though his father came from the Big Ant Colony. His father, Antavius, had special abilities unlike any in his colony and was expected to marry one of the large ants from the colony and have children like himself. His father wanted him to produce a super colony that would rule all the ants in the region. Antavius was a kind ant that did not want to rule but rather wanted to make peace with all creatures on the earth. Instead of marrying an ant from his colony, Antavius fell in love with an ant from the small village, Faye, and was banished from his home for doing so. Antavius moved to the small village and did much for it including fi nding a feeding place, building a school, and protecting the village. He became their hero. Because the food supply in the village was dwindling, he volunteered to go on a mission to fi nd another location but never returned.
