I froze and stared at the humanoid. It returned my regard, but its eyes seemed to burn with anger. I swallowed nervously, knowing I had been caught. I watched its hand blur with motion, and, suddenly, it pointed above me with the digit closest to its opposable one. A small, bright beam of peach colored light flashed from the finger. Instantly, I smelled singed rope and felt the line give a little. I knew time was short.
