Stars of the Savanna

It is 1694 in colonial Peru, the Spanish reign supreme over the indigenous Inca in a land of mysterious and dangerous rolling mountains. At the peak of Peru's wealth, a drought strikes that threatens the delicate balance of existence on Kiko's savanna. Kiko is a simple Incan boy, tragically born with a crippled leg that prevents him from the customary farm work. Clever but unable to be accepted into his own culture, Kiko is left to face life alone. Evelia, a privileged, radiant Spanish daughter with the world at her feet, wants for nothing; Gifted with sophisticated elegance and a wild-spirited personality, Evelia is the epitome of envy. In a society telling them otherwise, Kiko and Evelia meet in the most unexpected circumstances and struggle together against the existing differences of their worlds.
