The Snow Queen

"The Snow Queen" is one of Hans Christian Andersen's longest and most highly acclaimed stories.
This fairy tale is regularly included in selected collections and is frequently reprinted in illustrated storybook editions for children.

The devil, in the form of an evil troll, has made a magic mirror that distorts the appearance of everything that it reflects and magnifies their bad and ugly aspects. The devil, attempt to carry the mirror into the Kingdom of Heaven in order to make fools of the beings from that world, but the higher they lifted the mirror, the more the mirror shakes with laughter, and so it happened to slip from their grasp and falls back to Earth, shattering into small pieces like grains of sand blown by the wind all over our world.

That is why it happens for many people to see just the ugly aspects and to think of bad things to do because these splinters get into people's hearts and eyes.

There was only one way to get it out and this is the idea of "The Snow Queen" fairy tale of the little boy Karl and his little girl friend, named Gretchen that saved her little friend by the power of her love.

At the end, the grandmother reads a passage against cynicism, one of the many mirror’s splinters our society have to throw away.
