The Suitcase

Hanna has a suitcase. It has travelled with her since her time as a young girl in a Jewish orphanage in Bratislava, Slovak, through escape to sunnier times, if not always sunnier climes. Her story is the story of many but loses none of its poignancy for being so. Indeed, her bravery amidst loss shines through and her interest in others keeps us glued to the pages as we journey with her. Marriage, childbirth, career, grandchildren, through many countries, many new homes and changing political systems, Hanna surrounds herself with her faith, her friends and her family. Touchingly written, fast moving, with many clear insights, the story never wavers and the storyteller takes the reader along on a ride that is certain to both inform and please.
