SYNOPSIS:

Average Joe: By Julia Cook 9/3/11

Meet “Average Joe” – a not so average 12 year old.

It all happened three years ago. Joe’s dad, the brilliant scientist was working on his latest invention: a top secret anti-aging serum. The whole idea behind the serum is to slow down the aging process in grown-ups and keep them young forever.
Joe’s curiosity gets the best of him, and he sneaks into his dad’s lab and tries out the secret serum on himself. Unfortunately, it has the opposite effect. Within a few minutes, Joe explodes into a 22 year old man!
Luckily, two hours later, the serum wears off and Joe changes back into his regular 9 year old self. The problem is that since being exposed to the serum, Joe has not grown…he never changes in any physical way, except when he drinks the secret serum and becomes 22 for two hours. Joe is a 12 year old stuck inside a nine year old’s body FOREVER!
People started asking questions because everyone around Joe was changing and growing, and he was staying exactly the same. At first, he gets away with telling them that he is just a late bloomer, but after a while, Joe’s neighbors and friends started getting suspicious. Joe’s dad is working on a new formula so that he can fix Joe, but until he figures it out, Joe and his family have to keep moving around from town to town and school to school.
This is Joe’s third school in three years and here he sits in his fourth grade class for the third time…being “Average Joe.”
It doesn’t take Joe long to figure out that if he changes himself into a 22 year old, he can get his homework done a lot faster, sneak his friends into a PG 13 movie, scare a bully into being nicer, and even take his teacher out on a date and convince her not to give her fourth grade class so much homework.
A kid who can turn into a grown up for two hours any time he needs to! Imagine how much fun Joe can have!
