It has to be Thursday

"It's Wednesday!" cries Pigeon, "and that's the day before
The long awaited Thursday we've all been planning for."

So Purslay grabs her little bag with everything she needs,
Her trowel and her songbook and her jar of precious seeds;

And Pigeon packs her feathers she's been saving all year long
And her eight string mandolin for accompanying the song.

With purpose and excitement they set out through the wood
But in the special planting place, Nelly Foo is stood!

Pigeon starts to panic and shoots a glance at Purslay,
“Nelly Foo will make us late and we have to plant on Thursday!”

Nelly answers sneeringly, “Well this year you just can’t,
I’ve claimed this bit of forest, GO FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO PLANT!”

Nelly Foo secretly wants to be involved with the planting but only on her own terms. The others are worried that she’ll ruin their special day. Will they manage to plant their seeds on Thursday?
