The Pirate of Peng Chau – Witman English Readers Level – 1-2

When Pirates attack and take over the island of Peng Chau, 14-year-old Wu Wai Kung is left with the job of getting help. He informs the soldiers and then returns to the island hoping to delay the pirates until the soldiers come. With his friend, Li Tai Yun, he sets out in a leaky old boat to foil the pirates and save the people of Peng Chau.
