Hey World, Look... I AM SMART!

Follow Emily's school-day journey through worries and frustrations of feeling not as smart as her classmate Marcus. Well-meaning adults in her life add to those concerns, but one teacher helps Emily recognize her strengths. Ms. Believes-in-you turns Emily's world into a celebration with her realization that she has eight ways of being smart - some "smarts" just happen to be stronger than others. Understanding there are at least eight ways of being smart is important for every child, and, for that matter, every adult. Each person deserves opportunities to explore the many intelligences she/he possesses and then ultimately recognize and celebrate them as strengths. Within that realm of self-discovery, sincere encouragement from teachers, parents, and peers is necessary for nurturing individual efforts to improve and develop our lesser intelligences. Look within, seek your strengths, so you too can shout it from the rooftop, "Hey World, look...I AM SMART!"
