The Underworld – a seemingly endless complex of caves on an unknown planet in an unknown solar system. This is what teen-age runaway Barriel is faced with when she stows away on a starship and discovers, too late, that she is caught in a war between two merciless factions – a terrorist group and a gang of criminals who are selling them weapons. Wanted by both sides, Barriel and a single law-enforcement officer plunge into the Underworld and try to evade a pursuit – a desperate, life or death pursuit that ends with the fate of millions of people resting on Barriel’s shoulders, and Barriel’s shoulders alone…
