The term unidentified flying object, or UFO, covers a broad range of sightings of mysterious objects in the sky. Because the sightings can’t be explained by the observer, many of these events are attributed to alien spacecraft visiting us from other worlds.
Although some of these events have been the subject of serious government investigation, it seems likely that, in many cases, military projects were being observed. It’s therefore understandable that the government in question doesn’t want to probe too deeply into the workings of its own armed forces, and few investigations lead to the publication of credible scientific papers.
But this only rouses the conspiracy theorists who believe our governments are covering up the truth…
