This new anthology, sponsored by Writers for Peace, offers readers a powerful and moving selection of poems around the many complex aspects of being the “other” in a society or place. Resonating throughout the pages of this collection is the concept of the ubiquity of “otherness”—the challenges of being different, the deep and tragic disparities within and among cultures, and the even deeper sameness of us all.
