Jane Eyre – Annotated and Abridged – The Best Dialogue and Narrative Parts

Paperback (Independently published April 25, 2017)
Jane Eyre – Annotated and Abridged – The Best Dialogue and Narrative Parts is a highly edited version of the story. Jane Eyre is one of the most popular novels of all time. The delight of this story is the tension and sparring between the governess Jane Eyre and her master Mr. Rochester, a guarded then passionate meeting of minds and hearts. The dialogue between these two main characters is the thrust of the book. Some pithy narrative is included in addition to dialogue. Editing is very subjective. The language of Jane Eyre, nineteenth century British English, has an elegance and an intriguing timeless resonance. Of course some parts of the story are more compelling than other parts. We have chosen to focus mainly on the sparky synergy between these two feisty characters. Some subplots are covered in a sentence or two. Jane Eyre in its entirety is a masterpiece. However, for the reader who wants to admire the jewels, it can be argued that this edited version has a place. How could anyone dare to edit what is considered to be one of the best books ever written? We of the 21st Century have a shorter attention span. We are used to reading a lot online that is reduced to bullet points. Far better to read some Jane Eyre than none of it.
