MILES AND ZOEY: THE FAMILY TREE is the first book from Kimberly Mayhoe's new middle-grade (ages 8-12) children s book series. In THE FAMILY TREE, 9-year-old twins, Miles and Zoey Montgomery discover their Family Tree Book in the attic of their new home, a house that has been in their mother s family for six generations. The mysterious discovery takes them on an exciting adventure that transports the twins to 1857 to help a slave ancestor travel the Underground Railroad to gain his freedom. While on the journey, Miles and Zoey, not only learn about the era of slavery, they discover their own lessons they can apply in their present-day lives.
