The Happy Prince

'The Happy Prince' is a re-telling of Oscar Wilde's enchanting story of the golden statue of the Happy Prince and the little swallow who alights at his feet one night on his way to Egypt. It includes a CD in a pocket on the inside of the front cover, which has a recording of the story told in a 10 minute song, with sound effects. Children can listen to the CD while they look at the book. With bright, full page color illustrations on every second page, this book will delight children of all ages. In the back of the book, author Rosie Boom shares with the readers how she used Oscar Wilde's allegory to illustrate the value of compassion with her children in their home schooling. They then helped her paint the illustrations and write the song. Proceeds of the sale of this book go towards supporting a child in Zambia.
