My Brown Is Beautiful Too!

My Brown Is Beautiful Too! is a short children's book loosely based on actual events. The author's daughter started to take notice of and expressed confusion about her lighter complexion. With her daughter only being 5 years old, it was surprising to know that she was already so conscious about her appearance. It was then decided to create this book, a celebration of differences. Aimed at early elementary children, the book contains simplistic but playful illustrations. The story is written from the main character's POV and is a thoughtful and fun way to address a young child's curiosity about differences in race and color, outside and within the home.
