This book is set in our time. This is a story about two kids who must struggle to save their ancestral land from a greedy land developer. The kids are a girl, thirteen, and a boy, fourteen.
They are assisted by a Shaman, an ex-marine and four cats capable of advanced thinking and talking.
The developer is assisted by a demonic entity, Black Heart.
Its sequel, Volume 2, Archon’s Puzzle, is set 70 years in the future when the earth is ravaged by evil and greed; and, the climate has tipped causing worldwide catastrophic disaster.
