Pigskin - A Short Story: Old Catskill Days: Memoirs of Hacker
language
( Sept. 5, 2019)
Pigskin is a short story about a disadvantaged youth who grew up in poverty, in a dysfunctional home without a father. With no man of the house around, he was never really exposed to the game of football; until he was around thirteen years old that is. By that time he was already incarcerated in a minimum security juvenile detention center, housed in Upstate, NY.
The tale begins in the modern day though, where that same little boy has since grown up and matured into a fairly competent, and rather successful man. He is currently attending a private corporate event at Levi's Stadium in San Francisco CA, which is being held by the extremely successful unicorn startup that he is currently employed by. While wandering around the bowels of the arena, through the locker rooms, and out onto the field he begins to think back to the time that he spent in Juvenile Detention. He remembers the man Henry, who first taught him all about how to catch a football, what the rules of the game were and how to properly pass the pigskin.
Pigskin is part of a collection of stories entitled Old Catskill Days: Memoirs of a Hacker. Pigskin -a Short Story is a stand alone short story meant to compliment the three part book series that is being released soon. Old Catskill Days: Memoirs of a Hacker – Part I: The Early Years will be available on kindle and in paperback on November 15th, 2019.
