A few exercises made up of short easy sentences are given, in which the words in the columns are employed. The teacher or the pupil should form additional sentences of this kind, to show the meaning and use of as many of the words as it may be thought advisable to explain. Such exercises are of great profit to the learner.

The blackboard and the slate are to be put to frequent use. The child should print or write as much as possible, so that his eye may be trained to observe the form and appearance of the words.
