Every day blurs into the next, distinctions disappear with the repetitious routine and the crushing demands of the city that never sleeps. Until it doesn’t. One day brings with it something so new, so different, so terrifying, that it makes one question if humanity is worthy of salvation. That day begins for NYPD homicide detectives Jamie Matthews and Augusto Chavez as they investigate an unsettling crime that suggests a serial killer is on the loose. Meanwhile, a nearby rooftop is the scene of an epic bloodbath, the scene of three wandering vigilantes. The detectives have their world turned upside down as they begin to question the value of their life’s work.This interwoven narrative pursues the partners and the mysterious three through the back alleys and opulent apartments of New York City as they piece together clues, fight for their lives, and grasp for meaning in a world that churns ceaselessly on.
