The Ghost and the Ghoul

language (Criss Cross Press June 18, 2019)

She didn't know she wasn't fully human until she was a ghost

Geminia Frost never wanted adventure. But when she is suddenly thrust into another world, she has to face more than just finding out she is half-human.

She has to face being made into a ghost.

Soon, she learns that a being known as Ghoul has made her to be like him. This sinister man has controlled the destiny of those in the Gloam for hundreds of years. Is he the key to help her regain her mortality and humanity? Is she the key to his defeat? And what about the young guard Taurean, who makes her heart beat fast, even though she no longer has a heart--or even a true body?

Can a ghost and a guard have a future?

Or is she doomed to be forever alone?

The Ghost and the Ghoul is a novella of approximately 39,000 words, and is book one of two in The World of Gloam series, which is a duology comprised of two companion stories. Each tale takes place during roughly the same time period, but follows a different character. While each is complete in its own right, the author recommends that readers start with the first one in the series, for it will give them a better understanding of the fantasy world. The second novella also spoils certain plot points of the first story.
