Thriving in the Natural World: Cape Cod RIVER HERRING: Harris and Hanna Adventures

eBook
We should take this moment to introduce ourselves. My name is Harris and my twin sister Hanna. When we are full grown we will be about a foot long. We look like many other fish but we are mostly silver with some greenish blue color on our backs. We have a black dot just behind our gills. Gills are how we breathe underwater. Our gills convert the oxygen in the water for us to breathe. You use oxygen in the air to breathe. If you needed to find us, you could because Harris’s black dot looks like a black filled in number 8 and my sister Hanna has a similar black filled in number 8 but it is on its side. So even though there are many of us you could find us. Our adventure begins.
