Just trust me on this.
On the bright side, my field trip to the dragon enclave didn’t quite end in disaster. By which I mean that I narrowly avoided getting eaten. But after a less than enthusiastic welcome by the other dragons, all I wanted was to go home. Back to Twenty-third Street. Back to my house, my cat, and my grumpy, bathrobe-wearing gargoyle roommate.
But nothing is as simple as it used to be. My store is in shambles, there’s a traitor still running around loose, and every bounty hunter in Oklahoma seems to want a piece of my hide—literally. Worst of all? The man I might be in love with is missing again, caught up in a desperate race to save his brother’s life.
I’ve never been the sort of dragon to sit on my hands when my friends are in trouble, so I can’t help but get involved. But this time, it’s going to take more than a bit of dragon fire to keep my friends safe.
The fae queen has been making her own plans, none of which involve us surviving the next ten days. When we can’t seem to stay ahead of her magic or her mercenaries, it’s time for a desperate gamble—one that could save my friends... or doom us all.
