Ted Waters plays first base for the Riverside High School baseball team. An aspiring sports writer, Ted is slick with the glove, and equally slick with words. He pays close attention to the mental side of sports, sometimes to his own detriment. After a strong start, Ted’s senior season has hit a rough patch, and he and the Flames are running out of time to turn things around. With several formidable opponents standing between his team and the state tournament, can Ted find a successful balance between effectively using information and thinking too much?
