Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift written in 1726 is the story of Lemuel Gulliver and his voyages around the world. Lemuel Gulliver was a practical-minded Englishman trained as a surgeon who takes to the seas when his business fails. Gulliver’s adventures begin in Lilliput after his ship wrecks and continue on from there. The story is told in the first person by Gulliver when he returns home from his final journey. “Gulliver’s Travels” is divided into four parts each about a different land that has traveled to.
