The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

eBook ( June 2, 2014)
Twain wrote The Adventures of Tom Sawyer in 1876 and its sequel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn in 1885. The latter is often called "the Great American Novel."

Twain grew up in Hannibal, Missouri, which provided the setting for Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer.

These novels were among the first in major American literature to be written throughout in vernacular English, characterized by local color regionalism.

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn has been studied by literary critics since its publication. It was criticized upon release because of its coarse language and has become even more controversial in modern times because of its perceived use of racial stereotypes and because of its frequent use of the racial slur "nigger", despite strong arguments that the protagonist, and the tenor of the book, is anti-racist.

The novels have been optimized and formatted for the Kindle by experienced editors.
