Snowballs in July

Paperback (Eloquent Books Sept. 16, 2010)
If there can be Christmas in July, why not Snowballs in July? Max, the cat, enjoys his cozy apartment life until his world is turned upside down by a move to a farm. Max finds himself sleeping in the barn alongside strange animals, and with a new job as "mouse catcher." Just how do you catch a mouse if you don't know what a mouse is? And no one has the time to teach him! Max is ridiculed because he doesn't know how to succeed. He is given only one piece of advice: Stay out of the scary forest! One day, Max is chased into the forest by a dog. When he stops running, Max is lost. In the strange forest, the summer suddenly turns into winter. As Max travels through this mysterious place, he meets Cyd, a cat-sized stick bug. Cyd plays in the snow with Max and offers to teach him all he needs to know about those pesky mice. When she leads him back home, Cyd reveals she's really a tiny girl pixy! But just what has she taught Max, and will it enable him to rid the farm of mice, once and for all?
