A Bunch of Battlers

Peter, Robyn and Billy live with their grandparents on a farm in Gippsland in Victoria. They are a happy family. Tragedy strikes, the grandparents die, and the Child Welfare Department take charge of the children. A distant relative in Sydney agrees to take the children. But the children are determined not to live in a city. They set out on bicycles to find a home in the remote outback region of Queensland. Written by an 11 year old, A Bunch of Battlers is based on her experiences living in the remote Australian outback and in spending a holiday in the city.
