Kat Sanders is not your typical teenager - her parents died in a tragic car accident and she has spent the last seven years of her life moving from one foster home to the next. It seems like the minute she gets comfortable with one family, something bad happens and she has to pack up and move all over again. However, everything is about to change when she receives a letter from her sister Sophia - the only member of her family she has left - along with 400 pounds. Desperate to be reunited with her sister, Kat decides it is the perfect time to run away so she flees from her foster mother’s home and embarks on the journey to see her sister. On the way, she faces some of her toughest challenges yet and encounters a handful of negative and positive characters. But above all, she is fuelled by the things that keep her going - granola bars, her cat Macy, the power of love and her ability to never give up.
