His father, an avid reader, wants to instill a love of books in his three children. One night on his way home, he is injured in a car accident and slips into a coma. Inspired by his deep love for his father and a remarkable dedication to his family, Kent works diligently on his college thesis on comas. Ultimately, he discovers a way to awaken comatose patients, but not before overcoming the tragic death of his father. Scott Morton's first children's book has several important themes not the least of which is how good things can come from misfortune and how love can inspire a miracle.
