Sir William Magnay, 2nd Baronet, (1855-1917) was an English baronet and novelist. He was the son of Sir William Magnay, 1st Baronet, who served as Lord Mayor of London, and succeeded to the baronetcy in 1871. He was a prolific novelist, publishing 25 novels prior to his death, with three more published posthumously. This tale of intrigue set against the backdrop of the royal courts of Europe was first published in 1901. With a frontispiece by Oscar Wilson.
