This warm-hearted story begins with the common occurrence and easily relatable first day of school. Kayah, the main character, is beginning second grade. Like in many classrooms, the first day includes "getting to know you" activities. Kayah must assess her own abilities and come up with one thing she does well. This will be the first thing her new classmates learn about her. As she thinks back over events from her life, we find out a lot about how Kayah relates to her younger sister. We also get a feel for the wide range of career choices Kayah may investigate for her future. A perfect blend of the familiar and the unexpected, make this a delightful read. What Do I Do Well gives parents an easy springboard for their children to explore his/her own strengths.
