This is a true story of an amazing woman named Cynthia Marie Grace. Cindi, as she was known by her friends, was the kindest, gentlest, most caring woman that you could ever meet. Notice that I said “was”. Cindi was diagnosed with Type One diabetes on August 26, 1968 when she was eleven years old. During the next forty years, Cindi would endure every possible side effect of diabetes, up to and including her death.
Cindi wanted her story told. We often talked about her writing a book, but unfortunately she lost most of her vision, and later, her life, before she was able to share this amazing story of perseverance.
This book is my tribute to her.
